Happy Easter

Céile and St. Patrick's day

We dressed in green and wore our shamrock hats that we made on Friday 13th March. We had a great time watching all the dances and we loved performing our dance for the school. We did a great job!

Mothers day

We visited the garden centre to plant flowers in special baskets to give to our Mammy's for Mother's day. This was really fun. 

The Secret Garden

We visited the garden and realised there was a lot of work to be done. We were very busy picking weeds to make sure our plants can grow. We also planted peas,  strawberries, ivy and flowers in old shoes before the Easter holidays which we will bring to the garden in April. 

Multiculturalism

As part of multiculturalism we explored the story 'The crayon box that talked'. We painted crayons and created a display in the hall. We loved learning the rhyme:

We are a box of crayons,

each one of us unique, 

but when we are together, 

the picture is complete!

Spring is here

We learned all about the signs of  spring. We went on a spring walk and created lots of lovely art work based on the theme of spring. 

World Book Day

For World Book day we brought in our favourite books. We discussed our favourite books and why they are our favourite!

We went on a bus to Tallaght where we took part in the Córéile concert. This was a great trip and we did a really good job!!

Pancake Tuesday!

We had pancakes on Pancake Tuesday. We had a choice of jam, honey, lemon, sugar and maple syrup. It was yummy! We promised to be helpful and kind throughout lent. 

February

Here are some of the Aistear and mathematical morning activities  completed during the month of February!

We have started food dudes in school. We have been doing a great job at keeping the junk at bay and eating all of our fruit and vegetables. Well done to everyone! Keep up the good work.

We celebrated St. Bridgid's Day and learned what a kind and generous woman she was. We learned the song 'We sing a song to Bridget' 

We learned the rhyme 'There was an old woman'. We created our own shoe houses using pencils and crayons to add details such as windows, chimneys and doors. 

We have started letter formation in our copies. So far we have done the letters c, a, d and g. Some of us have started using pencils. We are doing a brilliant job!

We created love bugs for Valentines day!

Reading with Second Class.

Every Friday the girls from Second class come to our class to read to us. We really enjoy this. They show us the pictures and ask us questions too. Teacher said we do a great job at listening to the girls!
